You should know the clients they have had and how recently they were trained. It is also important
to ensure that the trainer you selected has a background in the field they are giving training.
For instance, if you want to train your employees in sales, make sure that the trainer has a successful
sales background. Some of the other factors that you need to consider are:
  • The training vendor you select should understand your business well

  • Ask for two client reference who will be able to convey a holistic idea of your training experience

Right Attitude

Trainer’s attitude can make a big difference to the trainees. From the first meeting with the trainer,
try to assess their attitude. Is your sales trainer pushy? Do they respond to your concerns? Do they
give a personal touch and they willing to go the extra mile for you? These are some of the question
you need to address to ensure that you can trust the trainer and build a long-lasting relationship with
them.

Accounts
When you are choosing a training vendor, do not forget to carry a thorough check on the organization.
You should check their financial history. It’s also fine to use credit checking agencies and re-check the
information stored on the companies. This kind of information is not available on non-limited trainers
or companies. If you are dealing with such kind of vendors, ask for their previous year records or basic
profit and loss figures.

at a problem or do they only limit to the tried and tested approach? Do they offer any new solutions to
help you achieve your objectives?

If you are dealing with a technology provider, you can always ask for their development roadmaps
so you get a sense of the company’s future. This is especially important if you are thinking of signing up
with them for  multi-year contract or licence. Remember that it is not important that your training.
Provider offers fancy technology unless it is required, but always see whether they are looking to
improve on their offerings and whether they possess a forward-thinking approach.

This relates to the amount of knowledge the training vendor possesses in the subject they are
providing training. Given the fact that many trainers offer training services in multi-subjects,
ensure that the trainer you choose is a subject matter expert. Try and find a trainer who is a specialist
in the subject/training that you are looking for.
